Hi everyone, I’m the Voracious Bookdragon, occasionally known as Stephen! I’m starting this new blog as a 2018 resolution to blog more about my number one passion, reading books, writing flash fiction/short stories, and about life in general in sunny California. Right now, my main goals are to blog about my favourite books, to share my ongoing quest to get through my TBR (To Be Read) list, and to shamelessly point out some of my awesome writer friends’ books.
To start this blog off, here’s one of my all-time favourite book series that I recommend constantly: The Nightside series, by Simon R. Green!
A strong blend of fantasy, horror, science fiction, sarcastic British humor, and much more, with a liberal sprinkling of references to pop culture and classic books/movies, this series centers on John Taylor, a world weary but gifted private investigator who can find anybody. His return to the decadent world of the Nightside, a secret city hidden inside London, in search of a teenage runaway starts the series off with a BANG!!! Filled with a cast of unforgettable characters, both on his side and against him, Taylor seeks to find the truth about his mother’s true identity, to overcome the dread Harrowing that hound his steps, and to solve the odd mystery with quick thinking and a special bag of tricks in his trench coat pockets. I cannot express enough how much I recommend this series to everyone, as there is something for everyone in these books!!
