On matters of friendship

It may surprise some of my friends, but I do not make friends easily; more often than I care to recall, I come across as too quiet, quirky, or some other description that you can fill in yourself.  In spite of that, once you put aside that initial impression, I am (as far as I know) a good, constant friend to have around, a “go-to guy” kind of person who will go the extra mile. Yes, it makes me sound like a faithful golden retriever or something, but I kind of like that description, being a dog person and all that.

Anyways, it has been a struggle to find and grow friendships for me in SLO, and it has been a bummer to go through, with the majority of my friends being in the Pasadena area & the majority of my family being in the SLO area.  I definitely need to get away for a long weekend to spend time with my closer friends; life is such a struggle right now, I don’t know what to make of it. 🙁  More to come later…
